App Store Localizations

Overview

Localization remains crucial for users worldwide to find and install your app. While traditional localization focuses on adapting your app for a specific market, ASO benefits from an additional layer: cross-localization. This approach allows keywords from at least two different locales to be indexed and appear in search results across various App Store regions.

What is cross-localization on the App Store?

With character limits in metadata fields, many of us wish we could squeeze in just one more keyword. Fortunately, cross-localization makes this possible. Because the App Store indexes keywords from at least two locales in each region, you can extend your keyword reach by optimizing metadata in multiple languages. For example, in the US, Apple's algorithm considers keywords from both English (US) and Spanish (MX) metadata, effectively increasing your available keyword space.
